I found it interesting that in some cases our ancestors lived a few counties/provinces apart. No One would have realize the ultimate merger of their families years later.
For Example:
Johann Sebastian Klien (Cline) was born in Steinsel, in 1644, which at the time was ruled by Spain, and known at that time as the "Spanish Netherlands", also known as the "Habsburg Netherlands". The aftermath of the Eighty Years War, (1568-1648) resulted in the "Spanish Netherlands" being split in two parts, the territory of the Dutch Republic, and the southern part which remained under Spanish rule included Belgium, Luxembourg and Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
Today, Steinsel, is a suburb located in the north Luxembourg (City), which is the Capital of the "Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Just over the border in the Northeast corner of France are the Regions of Alsace and Lorraine. Sometimes these regions are referred to together as Alsace-Lorraine. As of 1 Jan 2016, the regions of Alsace, Lorraine and the Champagne-Ardenne regions were reorganized as one region called the Grand Est.
Johann Sebastian married Anna Catharina Schamit (b. 1646), on 9 April 1665, in the town of Woerth, Alsace, France. They continued living in France and had a son Moritz Mauritius Klien (Cline) was born around the year of 1681, in Postroff, Moselle (Department), Lorraine (Region), France.
Moritz married Anna Catharina Marzloff (b. in Postroff Abt 1685),, in Postroff, Moselle, Lorraine, France on the 19th of October 1706. Their son Jacob Klien was born, on 8 October 1713 in the town of Hirschland, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France, a region located next to Lorraine. Mortiz and family were the first of our line of Clines to go to America, date after 1716.

Ira Octavis Hurt, who is my Great Great Grandfather, 1845, Birthplace near Boonville, Cooper County, Missouri, and close proximity he had with James Monroe Boucher, who is my Great Great Grandfather, 1856, Birthplace , Lawrence County, Missouri. (note: You may also see them both by zooming in on the VR Relatives Birth Places map).
